Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop culture: she was the only superstar to have moved from the country to mainstream, and to become a global pop culture icon. Swift removed her roots in the country as if they were just a second skin to reveal that she was arguably the smartest populist singer/songwriter of her generation someone who was able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and also perform in the opposite direction. The first songs she released including the neotribute for Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. The second album Fearless from 2008 showed the songwriter finding her voice as well as a broader public. Fearless was successful not only on American soil, with six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & I Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. It also performed very well across the globe. Swift managed to build upon her progress by releasing Speak Now almost two year following. In the following three years, Swift's popularity was growing through the years -three times - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as she moved into a world of pop music where her talents were already well-established. When she reduced her sound to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore, and Evermore, she still remained in the top spot. The position was defended by re-recordings from her past catalog as along with Midnights the synth-based chart-topper 2022 album.
