Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children who would grow up together eventually, learned very young how to overcome of the difficulties she faced by using her rich and vibrant imagination. Even before learning to write or read, she composed her own songs. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. She recorded her first album in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. She made a name in the local scene while in high school, however she wanted to perform on a larger stage. The day she was able to graduate from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) as well as Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his television show that was syndicated around the exact at the same time. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed to RCA Records. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974 after her own songs such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to No. The song of Parton in 1974."I Will Never Love You peaked at the No.
