Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a writer from Greece, a syndicated journalist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet and a television host, author, and philanthropist. She moved from Greece to England aged 16 where she obtained a MA from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She became an author for a conservative newspaper after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a couple of years following, she launched an online voice platform which offered critiques of political scenarios. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna was first noticed when she ran in California's recall vote, replacing then Governor Davis. Apart from this she also led an Detroit initiative to encourage vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as one of the "most influential woman" in media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. She was very close with her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother who formed her. In her earliest period, she displayed leadership skills for which are still prominently known. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. Following after graduation she was a journalist and TV host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
