Anna Silk was born at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. She is the daughter Peter Silk - an academic as well as Ilkay Silk - a talented actor as well as a writer, director, and producer. Anna Silk's father is British and her mother is is a Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother perform in play rehearsals. Early on Anna was a part of a variety of television commercials. Then, in November 1999 Anna made the move to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career.
